Pilot Custom Urushi is an Oversized fountain pen with an urushi lacquer finish and a huge 18K gold nib. This Pilot Custom Urushi lacquered ebonite fountain pen was created by maki-e artisans in Japan. It features the Roiro Urushi technique in stunning vermillion red & black colors. The pen has a two-tone 18k gold nib in the large #30 size. The pen is skillfully lacquered, cured, and polished thrice to attain the perfect mirror-like finish. The Gold accents are a perfect match to the lacquered cap and barrel. The Pilot Custom Urushi, when viewed individually may feel to be similar in size to a Montblanc 149 or a Sailor King of Pens. However, the Pilot Custom Urushi is bigger and thicker in size compared to a Montblanc 149 or Sailor KOP.
